As part of the “CITY AND WAR 2.0” project, several online events were held focusing on the use of digital technologies in research in the social sciences and humanities. The events were co-organized by the web resource “Digital History Handbook” and the Department of Branch Sociology, Faculty of Sociology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
On December 2, 2025, a presentation of the web resource “Digital History Handbook” took place. The presentation was delivered by Orysia Vira – historian and lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University. The event was moderated by Yevhen Rachkov, co-coordinator of the “CITY AND WAR 2.0” project.
On December 18, 2025, an online discussion titled “The Optics of Web/Digital Anthropology in Sociological Research: Examining the Phenomenon of ‘Home’ in Times of War” was held. The discussion featured Alla Petrenko-Lysak – PhD in Sociology, Associate Professor, Department of Branch Sociology, Faculty of Sociology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The event was moderated by Yuliya Kiselyova, co-coordinator of the “CITY AND WAR 2.0” project.
We sincerely thank the participants in the online events for their substantive presentations and productive discussions. We hope that the proposed approaches and reflections on the use of digital technologies in social sciences and humanities research will contribute to the further development of interdisciplinary studies.
